Our first Oxford visitor

My brother came to visit us on Friday and Saturday, after finishing a business trip in Germany.  We were happy to have him as our first official guest in Oxford!

We enjoyed a scenic drive from Heathrow and arrived at our house in time for a trip to the pub.  We chose The Crown, a centuries-old establishment in city centre.  We enjoyed some tasty ales and pub food, then took the bus back home.

Saturday morning's weather was bright and clear, so we headed back into town for a punt.  The kids had been quite excited about taking their uncle punting.  This time we tried out the Magdalen Bridge Boat House at the end of the High Street.  We journeyed along the River Cherwell all the way to the Thames and back!  As always, thank you to D for his excellent punting skills.

The day turned rainy after that, so we spent the rest of the day relaxing at home.  Thank you Uncle R for coming to visit!!

  1. Good to know that D. can punt with a bit more weight in the boat... for O. and P!
