Today we drove south from Oxford to tour two points of interest - Highclere Castle and Stonehenge. The weather was a bit gray, with spotty rain, so some time in the car was no problem.
The first stop was Highcelre Castle, so Oma and Papa could experience the land of Downton Abbey. I waited in the car with C, since we had toured it previously.
Then we continued on to Stonehenge, which is located in a rural part of Wiltshire. The visitors center is situated about a mile from the stones - Oma decided to walk, while the rest of us took a bus to the site.
The stones were amazing to look at and contemplate how and why they are arranged there. It was also fun to be in the open countryside - there are some herds of sheep and cows that have amazing daily views of the henge!
After our day of touring, we arrived home and enjoyed a warm dinner of meat pies and mashed potatoes prepared by D.
