Blists Hill Victorian Town

 12 August 2023, Saturday

After visiting the Iron Bridge, we drove a few minutes to an open air folk museum called Bliss Hill.  The town depicts a Victorian mining and iron ore processing town.  Some of the buildings are Victorian rescues from other areas that have ben re-erected on this site.  The industrial facilities are on-site originals.  Many of the stores had period-dressed docents who were happy to give us a history lesson.  The kids to to exchange money to historic change (shillings, hay-pennies, etc.), and spend the money in town.  It was also steam locomotive day, so we got a further Victorian vibe with these beauties rolling through!  We parked the Tesla next to one ;)
