Bourton-on-the-Water, Cotswolds

14 August 2018, Tuesday

We wanted to show our guests a little bit of the Cotswolds.  We had a good driving tour, taking some single-track roads and enjoying the country scenes.  Plans were made to explore the public footpaths in the near future.  :)

The shallow, picturesque River Windrush runs through town, giving the streets a canal side feel.  Bourton is sometimes called the Venice of the Cotswolds.  In my view, Bourton is just a touch smaller than Venice.

We had dinner at The Duke of Wellington.  The beer was good; too bad they were out of the cod and stroganoff.  How was the soup...?  :)
