Great seats awaited us in the Royal Albert Hall for the 19th Prom of the season. We heard the BBC Symphony Orchestra play a terrific family-oriented concert. Along with several children's choirs, dancers, speakers and actors, they performed portions of eleven pieces - for example, one movement from Dvorak's New World Symphony, and one of Elgar's Enigma Variations, and Hoe-Down from Copland's Rodeo. The grand finale was the last movement from Stravinsky's Firebird Suite.
The performance was very engaging, for kids and adults alike. We were lucky to have front-row seats in the stalls, which gave us a fantastic view of the performers. I'm glad the whole family could do a Prom this year!
