Demonstration at Blenheim Palace

12 July 2018, Thursday

President Trump is on a scheduled visit to England and Scotland this week, so naturally there were protests/demonstrations at the locations he'd be visiting.  He had a fancy state dinner with Prime Minister Theresa May tonight at Blenheim Palace, and we decided to join the demonstration outside the palace gates.

We didn't see the Trump Baby blimp, but we did see many messages for Trump.  It was a medium-sized crowd (about 1,000 people).  We booed every time the police opened the gates for a swanky car entering the grounds, presumably filed with Trump supporters.

It was also a good excuse to explore the small town of Woodstock, which was buzzing with protest energy.  We ate dinner at The Crown, where it was Spanish night.  We enjoyed tapas and paella - the paella was cooked in a massive dish that served everyone in the restaurant.  A enjoyed taking photos of its progress while cooking :)

A is up in the TV/BBC gated area :)
