Our first stop in Scotland was to tour the HMY Britannia. It was in service for Queen Elizabeth from 1953 until 1997. It followed a long line of Royal Yachts, but no new yacht was commissioned after this one went out of service. Britannia sailed over 1 million miles all over the world.
We enjoyed touring all the decks, from the bridge up top, to the royal bedrooms and state rooms, to the shipmen’s quarters below. D and I especially appreciated seeing it after watching two seasons of The Crown; Britannia was part of several episodes.
C enjoyed searching for toy Corgis placed here and there on board. She spotted 15 of them, and she got to purchase a special Corgi of her own in the gift shop at the end :)
