We really enjoyed our drive north from Stirling. The changing scenery was beautiful! We even played chase with a train, The Royal Scotsman - it's a luxury train that makes scenic trips through the Highlands.
We arrived at Grantown-on-Spey in time for a lovely dinner at our hotel, the Grant Arms. We were happy to settle in for a three-night stay.
Grantown-on-Spey is a quiet town in the Cairngorms National Park. We're glad we stayed there rather than the more touristy Aviemore to the south. Being this far north (57º latitude), we couldn't believe how much light stayed in the sky all day!
