This morning we took a 3-mile uphill hike to take in the views over Strathspey (valley of the River Spey). It proved to be a long walk for C, but luckily she got rides on Dad's shoulders! The day was also a lot hotter than we thought - it started off pretty cool, in the low 60s, but it quickly warmed into the 80s. Quite unusual for the Highlands!
Anyway, the walk was gorgeous. We traversed different types of terrain, including sheep fields, the Lynmacgregor Wood, and a big cut for the 19th century rail line that once passed through the area.
After the walk, we grabbed sandwiches at the co-op grocery across the street from our hotel. We enjoyed lunch and a refreshing Highlands Brewery beer in the hotel cafe!
